Pyrethrum Insecticide

Pyrethrum 5EC is a natural, professional-grade insecticide made from dried Chrysanthemum flowers. It effectively kills almost all garden pests safely, leaving no toxic residue.

How Pyrethrum 5EC Works

Pyrethrum 5EC is a naturally-derived, professional-grade pesticide which attacks the nervous system of a wide spectrum of pests. Pyrethrum 5EC kills aphids, fruit flies, fungus gnats, greenfly, spider mites, ticks, tobacco beetles, whitefly, blackfly, springtails, moths and many other garden pests.

Preventative measures are always the best way to keep pests at bay, but pyrethrum shines in difficult situations where pest populations have spiralled out of control, due to its ability to act quickly and effectively.

Moreover, it’s derived from natural sources (dried Chrysanthemum flowers), making it relatively safe compared to other synthetic pesticides. Pyrethrum breaks down quickly when exposed to sunlight and air, typically decomposing within a few hours to a couple of days. This rapid degradation is one of the reasons it's considered safe for use on edible plants.

Unlike many synthetic pesticides, pyrethrum doesn’t leave long-lasting residues, reducing the risk of harmful chemicals being present on fruits, vegetables, or herbs at harvest time, which is why it's registered as suitable for both organic and non-organic farming.

However, to ensure safety, it’s important to use pyrethrum with caution: keep it away from pets and other humans, apply it in well-ventilated areas and avoid inhalation or skin contact.
