Gavita Pro E-Series 6/750E - The Most Efficient HPS Lighting Available
This is the 750 watt addition to Gavita's range of cutting edge 400v complete lighting fixtures. This system is without doubt the best flowering option available for a standard 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m grow tent, providing the flexibility to reduce output levels to 400w when temperatures are an issue. However, if you've got your environment down to perfection, you can max it out it at 825w and prepare yourself for a record-breaking harvest! With an RJ14 socket and splitter, you can even take advantage of the full range of features on the new Gavita EL1 and EL2 Master Controllers, managing up to 80 units from a central point. Very highly recommended.
Many growers with a 750W or 1000W Gavita Grow Light are finding that the Gavita Wide-Angle Reflector has made a big difference to their grow. Read all about it in our Blog.
How the Gavita Pro 750e Works:
The design of the Gavita Pro 750w fixture came about as a result of feedback from users of the 1000w equivalent. Many users of the 1000w Gavita Pro fixture run the system in a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m grow tent, which is a smaller space than we would generally recommend (the optimum being 1.5m square). However, with excellent environmental conditions, users reported that the 1000w system could be run in a 1.2m square tent quite comfortably at the 825w setting. Taking this into account, Gavita have designed the 750w fixture with a 1.2m x 1.2m x 2.0m grow space in mind. The 825 watt setting on the Gavita Pro 750w fixture is around 5% more effective than the 825w setting on the Gavita Pro 1000w. Changing the output levels of high intensity discharge lamps can negative effect their light spectrum - turning the 750w Gavita Pro up to 825w is more efficient than turning the 1000w Gavita Pro down to 825w. The 750w Gavita Pro fixture also comes with the ability to reduce output levels down to 400w when necessary, and on this particular model, a lot of engineering work has been done to ensure that the spectral shift is reduced to its lowest possible limits.
400 Volt Pro HPS lamps produce more light for the same power as an equivalent 230v set-up and will give at least 10% higher yield compared to even the best standard HPS systems. In fact, when they are seen side-by-side, the HPS Pro lamps are noticeably brighter, run cooler and the light they produce is slightly whiter. So in addition to them giving a higher yield, plants grown under a 400 Volt Pro HPS are healthier, happier and are at less risk of heat damage. UK mains power (230 Volts) is fed directly to the combined ballast and reflector via a standard mains power lead. The special ballast then converts the mains electricity to drive a double ended 400 Volt / 750 Watt lamp. The distance from the ballast to the lamp is very short, meaning that virtually no power is lost through the connecting cable and electromagnetic interference is reduced to practically zero. The reflector has been specially designed to give a superbly even light spread despite its small size. The surface of the reflector has one of the best coatings available and gives at least 95% reflectivity.
400 Volt / 750 Watt Pro HPS lamps maintain their efficiency and light output for much longer than standard HPS lamps. In fact they will normally last at least a year before they need to be changed out.
The Gavita Pro 400 Volt / 750 Watt HPS Lighting Kit includes a power control with 5 power settings so that it can be run at 400 watts, 500 watts, 600 watts, 750 watts or 825 watts.
This system is also fully compatible with the new Gavita EL1 and EL2 Master Controllers, thanks to the inclusion of an RJ14 socket (located on the ballast) and splitter. If you're using a Master Controller, you'll be able to control up to 80 of these systems from a central point, and with an abundance of additional features. The Master Controller's 'auto-dim' mode will automatically lower light output level if it detects increases in your grow room temperature, keeping the environment within the correct ranges at all times. The Master Controller can even be programmed to shut lighting off altogether if temps creep above the user specified 'auto-shutdown' setting.
The Master Controller's sunrise/sunset feature eases light levels up and down gently when moving between daytime and night time periods, mimicking natural conditions. You can even select the length of time that you'd like the lights to take to do this. The likelihood of experiencing botrytis (rot) is then greatly reduced. If lights switch on suddenly, it takes a little while for the temperature of plant matter to reach equilibrium with the temperature of the air in the room. During this period, the colder outer edges of fruits and leaves make contact with warm air. When warm air hits cold surfaces, condensation forms, and this causes big problems! Moisture sets into delicate areas, triggering botrytis (rot), which can devastate entire crops. By doing things gradually, you'll greatly reduce the chances of this ever happening.
